Happy New Year.

This year marks the year of the “Hinoe-Uma” (Fire Horse) in the Oriental Zodiac.

Since ancient times, the Horse has been deeply intertwined with human life—through agriculture and transport—symbolizing our heartfelt prayers for bountiful harvests and enduring health.

Furthermore, the Horse has historically been central to the measurement of time and direction; terms such as “noon,” “a.m.,” and “p.m.” are derived from the Hour of the Horse, and the “meridian” (shigoshen) that connects the North and South Poles bears its name as well.

According to the principles of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, both “Hinoe” and “Uma” belong to the “Yang of Fire.” This rare alignment creates a powerful harmony, much like the sun shining at its zenith, where the vitality of fire reaches its most magnificent peak.

As we step onto this radiant path illuminated by such brilliant light, we renew our commitment to the art of shoemaking.

本年の干支は『丙午（ひのえうま）』

古来より、「午」は農耕や運搬を通じて人々の営みに深く結びつき、五穀豊穣や無病息災への切なる願いを象徴する存在として尊ばれていました。

また、時刻や方位を表すうえでも重視され、午前や午後、正午などは午の刻を基準に名付けられており、北極と南極を結ぶ経線は子午線と呼ばれます。

陰陽五行によると、「丙」および「午」はいずれも「火の陽」に属します。

この稀なる重なりは、あたかも天頂に輝く太陽の如く、火の生命力が最高潮に達する力強い調和を意味します。
